AUTOMOTIVE COATING SOLUTIONS

Silicone Coating Solutions for Automotive Components

Yuxin develops PFAS-free silicone-based coating solutions for selected automotive components exposed to heat, moisture, chemicals, weathering and thermal cycling. From resin and formulation selection to application testing, each coating system is developed around the substrate, production process and required performance of the project.

AUTOMOTIVE PERFORMANCE

Coating Challenges in Automotive Environments

Automotive component performance depends on the complete coating system—not a single property. Substrate, exposure, curing and production conditions must be considered together.

Application conditions define the coating direction.

01

Heat & Thermal Cycling

Repeated temperature changes can stress the coating–substrate system and affect long-term adhesion.

02

Moisture & Weathering

Humidity, condensation and outdoor exposure can influence surface protection and coating integrity.

03

Chemical Contact

Compatibility should be evaluated against the actual media, concentration, temperature and exposure time.

04

Electrical Requirements

Selected electrical applications may require insulation and moisture protection verified for the project.

APPLICATION NOTE

Final performance depends on coating grade, substrate, film build, curing process and service conditions.

SILICONE-BASED SOLUTIONS

Silicone-Based Coating Directions

Coating systems are selected or adjusted around the component, substrate, application process and required operating conditions.

01

High-Temperature Protection

Silicone-based systems can be developed for selected components exposed to elevated temperatures and repeated thermal changes.

02

Electrical Insulation

Selected electrical applications can be evaluated around insulation, adhesion and environmental protection requirements.

03

Moisture & Environmental Protection

Protective directions can be adjusted for humidity, condensation, weathering and other defined service conditions.

04

Application-Specific Formulation

Formulation adjustment and sample validation are available when a standard coating does not match the substrate or process.

APPLICATION-DRIVEN DEVELOPMENT

Developed Around Your Component and Process

A coating that performs well in one application may respond differently on another. We begin with the actual component and production conditions before recommending a coating direction.

Automotive Coating FAQ

Are Yuxin coatings designed for complete vehicle body painting?

No. Our current automotive direction focuses on silicone-based functional coatings for selected components and application environments, rather than decorative vehicle body paint or automotive refinishing systems.

Can a coating be selected based only on temperature?

Temperature is only one factor. Substrate, temperature cycling, exposure media, film build, curing conditions and required performance must be reviewed together.

Can Yuxin customize a coating for our component?

Yuxin can evaluate formulation adjustment and application-specific development based on the component, substrate, coating process and validation requirements.

What information should we provide before requesting a sample?

Please provide the component application, substrate, temperature profile, exposure conditions, coating method, curing conditions and target performance. Existing specifications or test methods are also helpful.
